Oil Painting jazz musician Robert Fernandez Artist: Alexander Antonyuk

This is a portrait of me done by Russian artist Alexander Antonyuk. I was honored and flattered that he would do a painting of me. I am one of his biggest fans and have a large collection of his work. I was truly moved by this kind gesture. It's an incredible painting. Thank you Alexander.

These are a few paintings I recently finished. There are called ACEOs. They are roughly 3.5" X 2.5" and are done in pen, pastels pencils, watercolor pencils, and acrylic. They are then sealed with an archival medium to preserve the integrity of the coloors. They will be up for sale on Ebay soon. Enjoy!

These are charcoal sketches I did of my grand niece and the Hoopers oldest daughter at different stages of growth.

These are a few drawings in charcoal and pen and ink that I did a few years back as art projects.

I'm 95% finished with this painting. I've decided to call it "Inner City Blues".

This is a painting I finished this year rendered
in acrylic medium. I may post it on Ebay once I've decided what to do with the edges.

Introduction to "Robert's Jazz Spot"

Looking for a nice place to gather with friends for a glass of fine wine, an exotic selection of culinary fare, and a cozy atmosphere to share with that special someone? What could make the evening more complete? Just add jazz to the equation. Bravo!! You’ve got a perfect setting! That’s what you’ll find when you experience "Jazz With Robert”.

Check out the schedule for locations and times where Robert Fernandez performs. Robert is best known for his work with the “Sultans Of Swing” an exciting jazz trio that enjoys growing popularity in the Charlotte area. Robert plays the bass, the guitar and provides the trio with vocals. Robert has performed as the bassist for the “Brubakers”, a Charlotte based original jazz sextet who perform yearly with the Charlotte Symphony at “Pops In The Park” and several other jazz festivals throughout the region. Also to his credit he has collaborated with "Junque Gallery" on their last three cds.

Robert is quickly being recognized for his unique vocal styling and his sensitive guitar playing. He uses an unusual combination of voice and bass when doing some of his swing favorites. He places a scat vocal improvisation over a walking bass line and gives the song a whole new feel.

He enjoys the music of Brazil and can be heard singing in Portuguese as well as Spanish. Robert plans to keep his repertoire as diversified as possible with classics from Jobim, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, as well as past and present tunes from artists including Nora Jones, John Mayer, Eva Cassidy, and Phoebe Snow.

So come, relax, and immerse yourself in an atmosphere of great jazz, fine wine, and a culinary experience you’re not likely to soon forget. “Jazz With Robert” now appearing throughout the Charlotte area.
